Professional Composite Cards: Monica Dyer Photography

February 28, 2010

Just finished designing this little girl’s modeling comp card. All of the images were taken during a one hour photo-shoot in the studio. She is a real trooper, and I am sure we’ll be seeing her face in an advertising campaign soon!

Children’s Mini Portrait Sessions: Monica Dyer Photography

February 27, 2010

The first mini portrait session held at the Blue Dog School of Acting for Kids was a great success! My thanks go to TR Durphy and Elena Garcia, the owners of Blue Dog, who agreed to let me rent their space for the day. It worked out great, and I foresee a strong relationship growing between our respective businesses! Blue Dog School of Acting recently relocated from Miami to Plantation. They are located in the Publix shopping center on Broward Blvd and 69th Ave. Stop by and check out their unique children’s acting classes. And tell them Monica sent you!

Here are images of the children photographed at the studio. Look for another mini portrait session at the studio coming soon!

Children’s Portraiture: A Two Year Span

February 21, 2010

Wow! This is why we must document our children’s lives with photographs. I first photographed this little girl when she was a darling two year old.

Fast-forward two years– here she is today!

Notice the pose? This was not coached or posed at all. In fact, I was about to ask her to take her hand away from her face, when it dawned on me that this was the same pose as one of my favorite images from her first session. Her Mom noticed it too; We were both rather incredulous over how the moment was being recreated.

I have the best job in the world!

Mini Portrait Session: Monica Dyer Photography

February 18, 2010

This portrait session took place at the Plantation Preserve, which is actually a golf course built on 29 acres of wetland preserve. It is a beautiful location for outdoor portraits. And talk about beautiful– take a look at little Miss R., looking oh so cute in her tutu and rainbow tights!

Children’s Portrait Sessions: Monica Dyer Photography

February 18, 2010

The Duck Pond, a part of Plantation Heritage Park, is one of my favorite places to photograph children. This past Saturday five children came out to the park for “mini” portrait sessions. It was a brisk, cool morning, a bit warmer by the afternoon, and perfect shooting weather all day.

Here are a few from the morning sessions, with more to come soon!

Family Beach Portrait: Monica Dyer Photography

February 17, 2010

While our February temperatures might be a bit cooler than normal for South Florida, it’s never too cold for Beach Portraits! Take a look at this family who came out last Saturday for a family portrait on Deerfield Beach.

I love this new storyboard template, especially because it be personalized with your chosen sentiments.  (English translation of the French words:  my angel, my heart, my joy, my love; and my sweet, my miracle, my pride, my love).

Storyboards are a popular add-on product, and make great gifts. I order them mounted on styrene, so they can be displayed on an easel or framed for a more traditional look.
