I am very excited to share my very first “Artist at Work” series of lifestyle portraiture featuring local artists. Leigh Herndon, of Leigh Designs, is a fiber artist who specializes in direct dye painting, batik, and rozome. Rozome is an ancient Japanese method of kimono design. Leigh creates her stunning, one-of-a-kind designs most often as “wearable art.”

The beach is a beautiful location for a family portrait session, and Deerfield Beach is at the top of my list for family pictures on the beach.

What could be more romantic than a beautiful couple in love? Carmela and Justin chose two locations for their portrait session.
We started out at the Arboretum in Constitution Park. The Arboretum, also known as the “Tree Zoo,” is a lovely park for an on-location portrait session. Next, we headed down to the beach. Check back to see images from that location, but for now, take a look at this gorgeous couple!

A “sneak peek” for Mom and Dad: Baby’s first birthday portrait and his big brother, too!

Just finished designing this little girl’s modeling comp card. All of the images were taken during a one hour photo-shoot in the studio. She is a real trooper, and I am sure we’ll be seeing her face in an advertising campaign soon!

The first mini portrait session held at the Blue Dog School of Acting for Kids was a great success! My thanks go to TR Durphy and Elena Garcia, the owners of Blue Dog, who agreed to let me rent their space for the day. It worked out great, and I foresee a strong relationship growing between our respective businesses! Blue Dog School of Acting recently relocated from Miami to Plantation. They are located in the Publix shopping center on Broward Blvd and 69th Ave. Stop by and check out their unique children’s acting classes. And tell them Monica sent you!
